One reason pulses are great: they’re a water-efficient source of protein! Growing a kilogram of split peas or lentils requires 50L of water – while producing a kilogram of chicken requires 4,325L(!) of water, and one kilogram of beef requires 13,000L(!!) of water.
2016 is the International Year of Pulses. #India is the world's largest producer of pulses and we are lucky to have access to such a large number of them. The infographic below shows us how versatile, hearty and nutritious these seemingly humble crops are. #ThankYouTohBol to our farmers for cultivating these delights for us. Be a #FarmDost.
