Language activity. Letter and sounds

Love this. work on fine motor, and you know you are successful when the lock opens. Fun letter sounds activity for kids learning to read. Put capital letters on lock and lower case on key?

To play, students grab a pattern board and a tub of pattern blocks. Then, they take turns trying to cover up all of the spaces on their pattern picture with blocks. To cover a space, a student has to say the word on the space AND use it in a sentence correctly. If they can do those two things, they can cover the space.      The first kiddo to cover their entire picture wins.

The First Grade Sweet Life: Reading Centers--pattern block sight words! Get some templates, write words on them, and the kids have to play in pairs--correctly saying each word (and using it in a sentence?) before they can cover it. Also for math shapes!

This product gives you one page for all 26 letters of the alphabet, and a directions sheet for the teacher.  On each page there are 4 pumpkin cards that will make two letter matches (one uppercase letter match & one lowercase letter match).  HERE'S THE FUN PART - on one of the pumpkins the letter is so tiny students will need to use a magnifying glass in order to see the letter & then match it to the same letter (but only larger in size).
