The Crooked Forest, Gryfino, Poland. This grove of 400 pine trees was planted circa 1930, when its location was still within the German province of Pomerania. It is believed that a tool or technique was used to deliberately make all the trees bend in the same direction (north), but the method & motive are unknown. One theory is that tanks rolled over the young trees in WW!! snapping their trunks but not killing them. The mystery is part of the attraction
Tree stump chair..In our last house we had a huge section of log that was down by our creek , my hubby curved it into a love seat and dug out a place on each end for me to plant flowers.....I loved it! Sure do miss it wish I had taken a pic of it !!
Erik Nording's Great Dane line is an interesting series. In finish, it ranges from Nording's signature pine cone-like rustication to a smooth, glossy polish. The shapes, while all Freehands, differ considerably as well. The unifying factor then? Well, it appears to be the domed, smooth-polished, cap-style rim that each briar bears. - Andrew Wike
