The Vak-Vak Tree - Persian Miniature (prob. Iran - uncredited) .The limbs of the tree terminate in the heads of live animals a person.  The heads purportedly talked.  Hence -an illustration of the talking tree  - a reference perhaps to the legend that  Alexander the Great learned of his early death from a talking tree.
