St Anne's Well Gardens was the best of the four local parks, especially in my younger years - plenty of trees and bushes where we played cowboys and indians - the old cafe enhanced our play because it was raised on a platform - a bit like wild west saloons. We also had old air raid shelters, a pond and swings and roundabouts. The park was a haven for 50's children.
