Contrary to popular belief, there are many flowers that bloom around the year in times that aren’t Spring and Summer. Summer and Spring are popular gardening seasons and bring colourful and vibrant plants to life, but Autumn and Winter also offer a wide range of flowers to keep gardens bright. We’ve gathered a list of seasonal flowers to help gardeners all year round and created the infographic below!
Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire' - This deciduous shrub has oval, mid-green leaves and produces small, creamy-white flowers in May and June. But it's really grown for the brilliant, flame-coloured stems that are revealed when the leaves, which turn orange-yellow in autumn.
By planting wisteria in a contained planter, you can grow and train these beautiful flowering vines without making a permanent mark in the ground. Best known as plant covers to offer shade and visual interest around arbors or pergolas, potted wisteria is great for small spaces, rentals, urban spaces or general decorative appeal. http://www.ehow.com/how_8091558_grow-wisteria-pot.html?utm_source=pinterest.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=freestyle&utm_campaign=fanpage
Euphorbia polychroma: An undemanding perennial, Euphorbia polychroma offers a pleasing contrast of colors on a neat, almost architectural form. It grows to about 15in and produces a splendid show in May from bright yellow bracts. Their color is long lasting, but changes to rose-bronze as they age above the green foliage. A sensational ground cover plant or accent in a sunny garden. Quite tolerant of hot, dry conditions (but not the heat and humidity of the South).
