Mughal Dynasty had ruled peacefully in India for over a century since 1500's. However it was during the reign of Aurangzeb when the whole scenario changed. Aurangzeb started persecuting the Hindus. This led to religious conflicts, the Sikhs in Northern part of India did not want the return of Muslim rule and supported the Britishers and this led to the end of Mughal Dynasty and the rise of British Empire.
