Castle of Mesen — Lede, Belgium Originally constructed in the beginning of the 17th century for a royal family, after two hundred years of additions and renovations it was sold and used as a factory in the 19th century. It has been home to an alcohol distillery, a sugar refinery, and a tobacco factory.In 1897 the Castle of Mesen it was purchased by nuns to be used as a school. Abandoned in 70's.

Castle of Mesen, Lede, Belgium - was purchased in 1897 by a Catholic order of nuns, who turned it into a school. The school closed in 1970 and fell to ownership of the state. It has been abandoned ever since.
