The .303 bolt-action Lee Enfield is a must shoot to understand British armament. In WWI, Germans would claim attack by machineguns, when it was well trained British riflemen doing the “mad minute” drill of firing 20-30 aimed rounds. This is WWII’s version. Descendants of this weapon are still in use today in U.K. services. Surplus can be found, but need inspection to insure UK or US manufacture as it’s a popular knockoff for Pakistani arms makers.

Just A Car Guy: Eddie Meyer, icon of hot rodding... also sold airplanes. I just learned that  in 1946, Eddie Meyer sold used airplanes on Vermont and Third. The aircraft were transported by using vacant strips of land as makeshift runways. Most likely they were WW2 military surplus, or planes so obsolete for most purposes, and now replaced by the flood of surplus WW2 planes, that they were more useless than used cars
