Remove the finished pizza: Remove the lid and check the pizza. The edges should be crisp and well done, and the cheese should all be melted. Drag the pizza off with the spatula or tongs. Let cool for 3 minutes, then cut into pieces and eat!
I recently saw Jamie Oliver pile all of his salad ingredients on a cutting board, then drizzle the dressing over the top and let the kids mix it with their (clean) hands. You can serve it directly off the board with tongs in the middle of the table. What a fun way to eat salad! Skip the raw eggs in the dressing though!
Campfire Carne Asada Tacos. Very easy entertaining recipe. If you can wield a food processor and a set of tongs, you are set. I always kick off the summer camping season by doing these over the campfire. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can do most everything beforehand, leaving you time to quaff a few with your buddies. Perfect for tailgating or camping where people stand while they eat.
Pick one child to come up and choose a line to throw the oreo in the basket from. (Put the basket on the table in front of them). They get 3 tries to throw the cookie through the basket and DUNK it into the glass of milk. If they make it, use the tongs to get it out and let them eat it. Yum! Then sing the song in accordance to which line they made it from. If they don't get it in 3 tries, let another child get a turn.
Spiced Taco Shells: Mix 1tsp salt, 1/2tsp smoked paprika and 1/4tsp garlic powder. Deep-fry corn tortillas in oil, using tongs to hold taco shape, until crisp (~2min). Drain and sprinkle with spice mixture.
