Stained Glass Windows, Temple Balsall, a hamlet within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the West Midlands, England....    http://www.templar-quest.com/about.htm    ....     Temple Balsall is named after, and dates from the time of, the Knights Templar. They farmed about 650 acres here in the 12th century, and established Balsall Preceptory where templar brothers lived and ran the estate. After the Order was suppressed, the estate was given to the Knights Hospitaller of St John.

St John's Gate  Clerkenwell used to be the centre for the Knights Hospitallers, who started off as hospital workers in the Crusades and were gradually transformed into a military order. They were also known as the Order of St John which eventually became St John's Ambulance. Their museum is now within the gatehouse structure.
