After the miracle of Leeds 1981 England faced the Aussies at Edgbaston. Again they were faced with defeat until Mike Brearley threw the ball to the hero of Headingley Ian Botham who promptly informed his skipper that he didn't want to bowl. But Brearley was able to persuade the young allrounder to take the ball and an amazing spell where Botham took 5 wickets for one run saw England home. Here Botham runs off with a souvenir stump after his heroics had put England in the Ashes driving seat
