Antone's: home of the blues - This venue is one of the main reasons Austin gained its standing as the "Live Music Capital of the World." The original location was the first club on the famous 6th Street back in 1975. Promoter Clifford Antone opened it because he had a passion for the blues. The music scene has blown up around the club, and so have the names. Acts like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan played here before the country knew their names.
