She shows how she got this aged look and created shutters out of louver closet doors.  The big trick I never knew about was staining the piece and then using vaseline on the areas you didn't want the paint to hide.  DUH!

1. Found an old window shutter from the thrift store....$4.00    2. Acrylic paint (brown and teal)....$0.98 each.    3. Elmer's glue....$2.98        Used brown as my base, let it dry then put elmers glue ontop. While the glue was nearly dry but still tacky I applied the teal on top of it. The elmers glue helped give the antique/rustic look. Then I painted some old picture frames!
