1900s. She's so beautiful. How many unknown, unsung, women brought up others children aswell as their own throughout history. Sometimes in the most apalling situations with no rights & no pay etc or worse deemed only a "slave".
Lois Kindle Alexander-Lane [b.1916 - d.2007] Designer - Her Masters' thesis explored the history of blacks in retail, leading to discoveries of unheralded African American dressmakers. She founded the National Association of Milliners, Dressmakers & Tailors & was a former president of the National Association of Fashion & Accessory Designers. Her collections can be found at the National Museum of African American History & Culture at the Smithsonian Institute.
