The Aperol Spritz is of Italian origins and is a refreshing combination of Aperol, Prosecco and a splash of club soda, garnished with an orange slice. Its orogins date back to WWII when the Austrian/German soldiers used to reduce the alcohol content of wine with a "spritzen" (to spray) of soda water. The drink originated in the Venice region and spread in all north east of Italy, and only in recent years reached national and international fame.
Old Fashioned Recipe | Gimme Some Oven Interesting recipe in that it skips the sugar cube and uses Simple Syrup instead. Definitely easier if you have Simple Syrup on hand (which I do all summer long.)
