South African President Jacob Zuma’s state-of-the-nation address was disrupted repeatedly by opposition lawmakers calling for him to step down. Members of the opposition Economic Freedom Fighters party walked out of the chamber
South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters party, led by the charismatic political figure Julius Malema, has spawned a sister party in neighbouring Namibia, officials of the new group said yesterday. The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) would be a “radical left”, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist movement, said businessman-turned-politician Epafras Mukwiilongo.
Julius Malema has released a book entitled “The Coming Revolution: Julius Malema and the Fight for Economic Freedom”. Malema surprised everyone when his new Economic Freedom Fighters party took nearly 10 percent of the vote in this year’s elections.
