by Antony Gormley. [Image #4 of Week: Feb. 10th - 14th]. I really like this image because it's like a human caterpillar, a person taken over by dark feeling left only to stand and attack others. I wonder what he meant by this sculpture, it's kind of depressing.
Detail from a Kusaibi gown from the Maninka people of Sierra Leone. Made from 14 narrow strips of cotton hand-woven on a narrow loom and dyed indigo; hand sewn together. Plain weave; dyed indigo warps and wefts. There is extensive embroidery in dyed cotton and wool over the front and back of the robe in a variety of geometric patterns in white, blue, red and pink.
