Born in 1952, Larry Eyler became known as the “Highway Killer” after some of his victims were found alongside highways. In his early 30′s Eyler started picking up men under the guise of consensual sex, with a bit of bondage thrown in. Once he got the victims to a secluded area and handcuffed them, Eyler would brutally beat the victim, and then kill them. Most of his victims were found disemboweled, with their pants pulled down.
Patrick Kearney confessed to killing a total of 32 young men from 1975 to 1977 and dumping their bodies on highways and desserts between Los Angeles and Mexico. He was convicted of 21 of the murders and received 21 life sentences in exchange for a full confession.
William Bonin (AKA the Freeway Killer)~21 known victims but could be as many as 36. His victims were primarily young boys and men whom he assaulted, raped and strangled, leaving the bodies along California freeways. He was sentenced to death in 1996 by lethal injection. It is curious that he had been paroled twice as a sex-offender even after telling authorities he was not ready to re-enter society. They released him and he took to killing his victims so they would not tell of his acts
