This is the kind of "framed" backsplash accent that I don't particularly like. Though maybe it's partly because I usually see this kind of thing with the more ornate, traditional looking tiles. Can't see this approach working above our stove, it's so cramped as it is.
This traditional-with-a-twist kitchen was inspired by classic Hamptons architecture. A glaze on the custom flat-panel cabinetry and crown molding heighten intricate detailing. Chicken wire adds interest to the hutchlike built-in cabinets that flank the entry to the dining room. White bronze hardware provides a honed finish.
