TODAY IN HISTORY - Mary Tudor was born was born at Richmond Palace (18 March 1496 – 25 June 1533) - daughter of Henry VII & younger sister of King Henry VIII of England & queen consort of France. Mary had been unhappy with her marriage to Louis XII, as at this time she was almost certainly in love w/ Charles Brandon. She married Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk in secret. Henry VIII was outraged, & wanted Brandon imprisoned or executed. Luckily, Brandon ended up w/ only a heavy fine.
