One of two of Caligula's Nemi ships. Two of the largest ships ever constructed in Ancient times. They had running water, trees but were built in a lake. Recovered by Mousilini to be destroyed by retreating Nazi's. I hate italian nazi's.
This 8 cm high carving of a human face on mammoth ivory is 26,000 years old, and was found in former Czechoslovakia. The object is the oldest portrait of a human being yet discovered. The head appears to have been fastened to a staff or baton.
The portrait of the royal family of Charles IV by Francisco Goya. Painted in 1800. This was also mentioned in "Notas sobre el vasallaje." This was during a time when Spain had the Inquisition. The throne was also taken at one point by France. Goya was a republican (in the old sense of the word, as in he didn't necessarily believe in a monarchy). This portrait is a bit of a rebellion because he doesn't idealize their appearances.
