This is my first attempt of what I might call "landscape poems." Recently, we visited the battlefield at Manassas and were amazed by the sounds of silence . . . perhaps because we now live in the noisy DC metro area. This was made impromptu on an iPhone, so the quality could be better.

'The mountains are calling and I must go!' I just love that poem by Edward Morris. It was written in tribute to John Muir a man my husband greatly admires. Our country has such majestic landscapes that I hope you get to visit and enjoy this summer. Afterward you can commemorate your adventures in thread like this Rockies kit.
