One of my all-time favorites, Portulaca, works in hot sun and is a very bright non-stop flowering plant. Although it's an annual in Ohio, it's worth the show to plant it each year. It doesn't need deadheading, but is fun to do and keeps the plants looking fresh. Lots of color!
