1941, Germans resting during the Battle of Moscow. Note that the guy in the middle has an MG34. Looks like these guys were lucky to get there a greatcoats, not that it would have kept them that warm. Altogether, the Axis powers lost 174,00-400,000 of their troops trying to take Moscow.
This appears to be a modern photo from a Italian WWII historical reenactment group (see www.Progetto900.com). At least its name and website are printed across the bottom of the photo on a forum on historical reenactment (panzergrenadier.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14956&start=45)
