Steam returns to the Buchanan Branch... For the first time in over 55 years, steam returns to the N&W Buchanan Branch on the head end of an NS and TVRM sponsored public excursion. Enroute to Devon, W.Va. from Grundy, Southern 2-8-0 No. 630 crosses Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River on its 25 mile run to Ought One from downtown Grundy. The public excursions operated a total 71-mile excursion through rural southwestern Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and the southern edge of West Virginia....
