MS. AKIKO ITO (survivor of the atomic bomb, Hiroshima) Pencil and Ink on paper, 35 X 45cm, 2006 University College London Museum (permanent collection). Ms. Ito, an 18year old girl at the time, was getting ready for work on the morning of the Atomic Bomb. She worked in the Bank of Japan, one of the few remaining buildings that was left standing in the city. This drawing was made during portrait sittings with Ms.Ito in Hiroshima.
