Vellum book binding with yapped edges of John Addington Symonds' 'Sketches in Italy'. I cannot find defnitive publication info on this book, but it appears to be in the 1879-1883 range. I don't have any idea when the binding is from.

Rebind with Mylar spine. Yup, that's Pamela Spitzmueller's Longstitch/Linkstitch, but through a Mylar-and-Vyvek sandwich. The book is a 1713 edition of Johann Habermann's "Christliche Gebett auf alle Tag in der Wochen zu sprechen", a Lutheran prayer book. I'll be reattaching the original boards too. This is an in-progress photo of the book I'll be submitting for the Bonefolder's special Bind-o-Rama, called Artistically Reversible: Where Conservation and Art Meet".

Elpénor by Olivier Barré. Edges not trimmed. Original piece of title kept and transferred to flyleaf. Plain binding with black shagreen (goat) leather and polished. Decoration made of mosaic of grey leather and fragmentsof Limoges porcelain, with blind tooling thin lines. Lettering by gold tooling with gold leaves (on all the book). Handmade silk headband. Leather hinges inside the book.
