Tikhon, the Russian Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow. Tikhon resisted Bolshevik policies so in 1923 the Bolsheviks stripped him of his priesthood and his credentials as Patriarch. He was martyred in 1925 and has been canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church.
