This predator is called a gorgonopsid, which was essentially a bear-sized saber-toothed dog-lizard with a skull. Gorgonopsids of the genus Inostrancevia were even larger -- about the size of a rhino -- with canines roughly 4 inches long.
LIOPLEURODON was the biggest plesiosaur. Liopleurodon was not a dinosaur, but a short-necked plesiosaur (a pliosaur), an extinct, swimming reptile. It lived during the late Jurassic period in Europe and Eastern Europe.
