I really like the colours on this one -- the white interior really pops with the distressed aqua --- but I want to retain some of the natural wood too -- on the crown molding and the counter top portion, maybe...?
"Shade to Gray" This is an incredible old oak chest and tilt mirror. The woodgrain is not like anything you would find on something newly made. I dark stained the top and drawer fronts and painted the case to show off the beautiful carvings. I used a lot of shading on the painted parts, more than you can really see in the pictures. It is an oil based primer by Zinsser I found at Lowes that STICKS TO ALL SURFACES WITHOUT SANDING! And without stripping, because you can't strip wood veneer. Plus, you can put anything on top of it. It doesn't have to be an oil based paint. It just gives you a beautiful blank canvas.
