A fairly solitary animal, the KANGAROO is the largest of the marsupials native to Australia. There are three main species of kangaroo in existence today: the red kangaroo, the Eastern grey kangaroo, and the western grey kangaroo. The national animal and emblem of Australia, they are well-known for their ability to jump phenomenal distances and for the deep pouch in which to carry their young, called a joey.
