Explore Orangutan Pongo, Monkey Orangutan and more!

Conservation of threatened animals and endangered species. Sustainable management of their forests, seas, grasslands and mountains...

Five-month-old female orangutans (pongo pygmaeus) from Borneo lie in an animal hospital at Taman Safari Park, Cisarua, in Bogor. Wild populations of orang-utans are found only in the tropical forests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra.

Orangutans! Orangutans will be extinct - gone forever - in less than ten years, thanks to deforestation (needed for the production of meat in the west) and the new found demand for Palm Oil.
