Northern Indian Silver Hair Comb--This comb from north-western India is hollow and has an internal well for perfume that then drips out small holes in the base and then run along the teeth of  the comb to perfume the hair or beard. The top of the well has a little top that screws in (clockwise).

Northern India, probably Kutch Late 19th-early 20th century Width: 9.5cm, height: 6cm This beautiful comb is from Northern India, probably Kutch but also perhaps from Rajasthan, Sindh or Kashmir. t is cut from a single piece of wood, has extremely fine, long teeth, and has been decorated in polychrome to both sides with fine flower and leaf motifs. The fine floral decoration shows Persian influence.
