This is the Baltimore & Ohio's branch into Georgetown, Washington, DC ca. 1935. The old stone bridge is actually a former Aqueduct of the C Canal from Georgetown to Virginia. The newer bridge with the train under it is the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge which is still in use today.
Settles Bridge was an iron and wood truss bridge completed in 1896. The bridge was abandoned in the 1950's after the wooden flooring rotted away and newer bridges were constructed at SR 20 and McGinnis Ferry Road. [by Greg Foster Photography]
