It's hard to find eggs rolls as good as they were 40 years ago. They should be big, crisp but just a little greasy. The best I ever had were from a takeout place on Church Avenue in Brooklyn called Star Kitchen.
Mazie's Bites @ Dekalb Market | Serving International Soul Food in Brooklyn, NY
Scrapple sandwich from Diner restaurant in Brooklyn. The scrapple is formed into a loaf and baked in a water bath and then cooled (much like a meatloaf). After the scrapple has “set,” it is then sliced, and pan fried. Diner went above and beyond on their presentation by serving it in sandwich form with house-made aioli, melted Vermont white cheddar cheese, sauteed apples, chives and a fried egg on a house-made brioche bun.
