Half-moon shape Rice Cake Songpyeon is a type of rice cake made by kneading rice powder with hot water and stuffing the dough with beans, sesame, chestnuts and other fillings. The rice cake is shaped into a half-moon and steamed. Songpyeon is served without fail on Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) the biggest holiday in Korea.
Ssam or ssambap are Korean lettuce wraps, wrapped in greens like perilla, kale and cabbage leaves with surprise fillings inside made of beef, myulchi or tuna. Great for lunch boxes and for parties as appetizers or a side dish.

My mom never used carrots or green onion, but use it if you like it! I would try to get fresh abalone. Also, if you can get it cleaned buy it that way. Otherwise, give yourself plenty of time to clean the abalone. This is very important.
