Last king and queen of Iran: Mohammad Reza And Farah Pahlavi.

Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi better known as the Shah of Iran was overthrown by  Shi'a clergy,  Ruhollah Khomeini. He banned the communist Tudeh Party, and wanted modernize the country of Iran even more. He was one of the first leaders of the Middle East to recognize Israel as a de facto state

The Shah served as monarch for 37 years and was preceeded by his Father Reza Shah (styled Reza Shah the Great) who established the Pahlavi Dynasty in 1925. It was during Reza Shah's reign that Persia was renamed Iran in 1935. The Shah died on July 27th, 1980 in Cairo, Egypt. This is the footage from his funeral. President Sadat and the Iranian Royal Family followed the procession. Also present President Nixon and Ex King Constantine of Greece.
