The Trossachs National Park, Perthshire, Scotland. Autumn is a good time to see migrating birds and wintering wildfowl that begin to arrive from colder climates. As the leaves start to change colour and the soil has warmed up, so the fungi begin to appear. A wide and varied range of fungi have been recorded in the park. As not all fungi grow in the ground, look up onto some of the trees and you may see some polypore or bracket fungi growing out of the trunks, particularly birch trees.
