Tawakkol Karman born 7 Feb1979 became the international public face of the 2011 Yemeni uprising (Arab Spring uprisings). She is a co-recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the 1st Yemeni & 1st Arab woman & the 2nd Muslim woman to win a Nobel Prize and the youngest Nobel Peace Laureate to date. She is a journalist, politician & senior member of the of Al-Islah political party, & human rights activist who heads the group Women Journalists Without Chains which she co-founded in 2005.
