BNSF 1428 - Green Giants pull a mixed freight west on the Staples Sub. With the 75's going into storage again soon, this is easily one of the best targets on the BNSF, but who knows when the 60's will be put into storage as well, as long as BNSF is getting 300+ new pieces of junk... I didn't think I had any shots of the 1428 leading, but when a person is a year behind on photos and editing, sometimes you find things you never thought you had.

Burlington Northern caboose No. 10037 trails eastbound empties at Sully Springs, North Dakota, on August 9, 1991. The locomotives of the short train have just passed the power of a coal load in the siding. The head end brakeman of the westbound is on the ground for a roll-by, and answering a call to nature as any good crew member would do, instead of using the head in the nose of the locomotive.

BNSF 9541 West - An H3 MAC leads empty cans by the tiny community of Cable, MN. Note the NS 8102 second out. The crew might have thought I was chasing their train for shots of the heritage unit, but that wasn't the case. I'd take an H3 MAC over an NS heritage unit any day.
