This pyramid shows the effectiveness of certain teaching methods and student retention. Lecture at the lowest, 5 percent retention and teaching others as the highest with 90%. No more lecturing students, they are only holding onto 5% of the lessons you teach! Include more student led instruction where students learn on their own and allow students to teach other students.

Learning: What We Read-Hear-See-Do

William Glasser was one of the educational theorists we learned about in class. We talked about him in our class and actually looked at this exact quote. My takeaway from it is that is is important to give opportunities for students to experience learning, not only have them read and listen to teachers talk. It is important to keep learning active.
