This is ruins of the old Widener Estate in Elkins Park, PA.  At one time, it was one of the grandest estates in the Philadelphia area.  Mr. Widener made his fortune in streetcar systems. German photographer Killian Schoenberger has utilized moody landscape and old stories of his childhood homeland to create a series of photographic illustrations inspired by the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Shot in remote rural areas of Middle Europe dominated by images of haunting fog, gnarled trees and dark homes you hope are abandoned. His exemplary work as a photographer is made even more impressive by the fact that he is colorblind.

The SW corner and west front of the mothballed mansion, tucked away in a quiet corner of southern England. There are living buildings either side of this house, & the mansion is regularly visited, checked for damage and resealed!!
