WORLD WAR I: A fitting tribute to The Horse which played a major role in that War. The last in a modern war. World War I debuted mechanized tanks, armed airplanes and poisonous gas.

In Camp Cody, New Mexico, in 650 officers and enlisted men of the Auxiliary Remount Depot No a Cavalry unit, created this human horse head in tribute to the horses lost in WWI.

In the last stages of the Battle for Arnhem, the fight in the Oosterbeek perimeter between September 20 and 25 was covered extensively by an AFPU team of 3 men. Among the iconic photos shot in those 5 days is this blurry image of a 6-pounder anti-tank gun, named Gallipoli II, as it engaged a German Flammpanzer (Flame-thrower tank) of Panzer-Kompanie 224 that was coming down Utrechtseweg supported by infantry from SS-Bataillion Eberwein.
