Gas Creek School House - Gas Creek School Directions: Just south of Nathrop on CR 280 Built in 1890 this school was used until It reverted back to the Donley family and is now private property.
A little house on the prairie, near Tyrone Colorado, and not far from the Iron Springs historical site on the Santa Fe Trail. Early soft light and wispy clouds attracted my eye. The architectural style is typical in southern Colorado and New Mexico - Spanish Mission influence, no doubt. Kenneth Jessen (Author of "Ghost Towns: Eastern Colorado") says this was originally the school house, later turned into a private residence. It is now unoccupied.
