Timothy Pakron - lovey use of selective development in the Darkroom...not often you see artists using methods like this.

Fields and River late 1950's by William Gillies (1898-1973)

I can begin again and remain silent. I can begin again and fold within. I can begin again and ingest the darkness. But I would never known it to have been dark unless I knew the light. I had to feel the expansion of myself as broad as landscapes dot the horizon in order to understand how small I am at this moment. I had to have heard my voice be loud enough to reverberate and shake the walls that are always there. And though now I feel silent, small and shadowed I will wait to rise again…

EXPANSION - Seeing the Brilliance Through the Cracks. From the moment we are born, the world tends to have a container already built for us to fit inside: A social security number, a gender, a race, a profession or an I.Q. I ponder if we are more defined by the container we are in, rather than what we are inside. Would we recognize ourselves if we could expand beyond our bodies? Would we still be able to exist if we were authentically 'un-contained'?
