Books by Cammie McGovern: I read two of her novels this summer. Both do a fabulous job of depicting the relationship between a special needs child and mother as well as how disabilities are handled in day to day life. The disability (CP in one, autism in the other) is not the primary focus of the book but rather a consideration dealt with in the course of navigating the challenge of life. Great reads appropriate for YA-adult (or SLP!)
