Richard Bruno Hauptmann was convicted of kidnapping and murdering the 20-month-old son of famous aviator Charles Lindbergh. The kidnapping took place on March 1, 1932, and the baby's dead body was found a few days later near the Lindbergh mansion. Hauptmann was arrested in 1934, and after a sensational trial, Hauptmann was found guilty and electrocuted in 1935.
