Fifteen by Beverly Cleary

Fifteen - Beverly Cleary -- I had this book. Beverly Cleary & Judy Blume were 2 of my favorite authors.

Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary

Winner of the 1984 Newbery Medal. In his letters to his favorite author, ten-year-old Leigh reveals his problems in coping with his parents' divorce, being the new boy in school, and generally finding his own place in the world.

I remember my third grade teacher reading to us every day after lunch. This was one of my favorites that she read us.

I loved all the Beverly Cleary books! I had a hard time with reading and Beverly helped me enjoy books! She was my favorite author in grade school.

Forever: Judy Blume

My book club read this one. I read it for the first time in the grade. Teen sexuality told in real terms. Judy Blume is awesome. She is the queen of teen books and was writing YA before YA was a "thing"!

11 Weird Things We Learned about ‘50s & ‘60s Teendom from Beverly Cleary Books | J.C. Lillis | vintage ya books, 1950s, 1960s, young adult fiction, Beverly Cleary

Beverly Cleary book covers are classics. Often, there was nothing more exciting than getting a new Cleary book and seeing what kind of young adult dramas were playing out on the page, lovingly illustrated by artists like Louis Darling and Alan Tiegreen.

A teacher read this book to my class and did a voice for every character. Because of her, I do the same for my children and it really brings the stories to life!

Judy Blume books: Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing:The One that started it all with Superfudge!A great start to one great series of books!

My favorite Beverly Cleary book. I fondly remember this retro cover from my grade school library.
