'The Thurber Carnival' - written & illustrated by James Thurber (born 1894). Had read the (old) book years ago - & revisited recently. A 'Carnival' of story & comment, including 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' & 'The War between Men & Women' (cartoon drawings with headings).

James Thurber was a true satirist. The first book I read with my family. I had a lisp and we took turns reading it out loud to help me overcome it. My favorite will always be, "The Night The Bed Fell".
